For me, it would be the Renaissance (the 1500s), when Europe was experiencing a rebirth of learning, rediscovering the Greek and Roman classics that had been lost since the fall of Rome and the beginning of the Dark Ages. It was also a time of discovery and exploration, not only geographically (the volyages of Columbus and others) but also scientifically and philosophically. It was a time when art and literature flowered (Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Shakespeare, Cervantes). All in all, it was a very exciting time to be alive, and I would very much like to have been a part of it!

Yes but on consideration of the medical facilities available and the standard of hygiene........ for instance the most common illness during Victorian times was toothache but the tooth care was so bad many people's teeth just rotted. No corrective laser eye surgery would mean a life of misery for those of us who like photography and seeing who we are talking to. No traveling so no world tours. But visiting time? Sure. If I had to live in another time I think your late 18th century has merit - beautiful homes, no pollution but - no soap for your clothes washing. I suggest ancient Israel under King David or England under King Alfred would have been as close to civilized pasts we could want to find.

I would either like to live in the Early Middle Ages as an Anglo-Saxon raider or in the days of the great fur trade as a trapper.

Actually, My parents and my brothers and I belonged to a Reinactment British Regiment at the local historical Society with the setting of early American 1812... It was interesting... You should check out you local museum or search engine in your area and make your dreams come true.

well Hello Ephod,
whats your real name anyway?
I always dream of being born at a different time. probably if i were to choose, i would like to live in the Early Days of Colonial America and Civil War..Back in those days, America was still virgin in its culture..13 states are of exquisite beauty and grandeur...Not exceeding 4 million (1776 census)....a wholesome vista of a Puritanical society whose roots are basically protestants....a beautiful scenery and artistic represantation of lives are displayed...Cultural celebrations of British colonialism with few attractions of west European cultural activities....a cute home of the past and a good afternoon tea with jam & bread....oh how lovely America was before...a culture you could coin as American...
