The first "Terminator". That was before anyone in that movie was well-known so you didn't know if the characters would survive the movie. The scene that freaked me out was when Carol Conners (O'Conner?) was crawling through the factory and the robot was right behind her; still chasing her even though it had lost it entire lower body and skin. The robot was never going to stop. Killing her was its only purpose for existing. That's a scary concept. Later on in the sequels it got really cutesy and lame. They're suppose to be coming out with another one but who really cares?

Mine has to be Nightmare on Elm Street. I never watched the entire movie because my parents wouldn't let me but my brother was watching it and I would take quick peeks in to the living room to see it. My brother had a big poster of Freddy Kruger in the back of his bedroom door and I was in there being a little brat of course and all of a sudden the door closed and in the mirror in front of me was the reflection of the poster from the door. This was on the same day I watched parts of the movie so I was terrified. Couldn't sleep for days.

I didn't see many scary movies when I as very young, but I remember that the scariest movies I saw in college were "The Night of the Living Dead" (the original, shot in b&w in Pittsburgh) and "Repulsion," a psychological thriller by Roman Polanski. Oh yes, and "Rosemary's Baby."

I almost had to go into therapy because of the movie the Exorcist. I was afraid I was on the brink of demonic possession for like four years after that. Thank God that Jesus proved to me He was more powerful than all that stuff. But yeah, that film really did a number on me. I still haven't forgiven my father for showing it to me. He was the one who brought it into the house -- I was only TEN!
