No there was not. Congress members are sworn in together. They do not have thier hand on any book - just raised.
There is a photo shoot afterwards where he placed his hand on the Koran.
But since the rest of them did thier photo shoot on a book that says
"Destroy completely all the places on the high mountains and on the hills and under every spreading tree where the nations you are dispossessing worship their gods" Deut 12:2-3
"Whoever sacrifices to any god other than the LORD must be destroyed." - Exodus 22:20
you point is pretty lame either way.

If you actually read the whole verse instead of hacking it up and making it say something other than it does, wouldn't it be nearly the same as this verse:
The LORD said to Moses, 17 "Treat the Midianites as enemies and kill them, 18 because they treated you as enemies when they deceived you in the affair of Peor and their sister Cozbi, the daughter of a Midianite leader, the woman who was killed when the plague came as a result of Peor."

That's nothing. All the rest including Bush were sworn in on an even more sick and sadistic book, which says that not only non-believers should be killed, but their family, friends, neighbors, and livestock. Islam just punishes the non-believer.

Unfortunately, I must disagree with you. The actual swearing in ceremony is done en mass and a book is NOT used, neither the bible nor the Koran. I think he did have a private ceremony where he used the Koran, but that was only to be in your face to white people and Christians.
Heck, the Constitution means little to most of the Democrats in Congress, only what they can twist it to mean and when it actually says something that fits their agenda. They have no use for the second amendment unless they are running for re-election. They all defend killing little babies as a right to privacy. Sick, sick people.
