My son is now 7 weeks old. Within the past two weeks, everytime I try to burp him he screams and cries. He will not calm down until he's full. He does have a bad case of colic but, I know for a fact thats not why he's crying while being burped. There is a definate cry/scream when he's bothered by the colic/gas. If I wait til he's done eatting to burp him he throws up(not spits up). And if I try to burp in between he throws a fit. I don't know what to do. Either way gives him a bad stomach ache. I had to switch to Nestle Good Start, the Similac was tearing his stomach up. Could there be something wrong? He's fine when he's full.

along with switching formulas, my daughter had really bad gas as well. so i gave her gas drops before she ate and that seemed to help out a lot more. might try that. good luck and i know it is so frustrating sometimes.

At 7 weeks, as soon as you figure out what he needs - he will change.
Try the over the counter gas aids out there.
He probably gulps air which gives him gas pains.
Try burping him before you feed him. While you burp him in the middle of feeding. try a pacifier so he is still sucking.
Try laying him over your lap. Some babys burp better that way.
Are you nursing or bottle feeding....you can try different nipples on the bottles.
Walk around when burping him. Also a warm tub of water to put him in might ease his gas pains

When I know my baby is having a bad night because of gas or colic I prepare his formula with anise warm water(very light)... it makes things easier on him, and he burps right the way. Milycon drops work really good too.

My baby did the same thing. It might be the formula...idk because I am breastfeeding. I used to wait til my daughter was showing signs that she needed to burp (kicking legs and grunting) and then burp her. If it makes you feel better, they grow out of it...at least my daughter did.

I had the same problem. The doctor suggested that I try Mylicon.. I gave it to my daughter just before feeding her. I gave her instant relief and she started to burp on her own. I was amazed at how well it worked! She was only four weeks old when i started to give it to her. I was nice because It was safe to give it to her before every feeding. You should try it.

i had to go to soy formula with my son he had problems like this he also had cloic but the doc told me it was a form of reflux and when my son would burp it would burn so he cried knowing what was going to happen she also put him on zantac but that was like at 2 months when she put him on that because he would do more than spit up it would be like the whole bottle try propping him up when you feed him if at all poss good luck

You may want to feed him more often so he's not quite so hungry when you do feed him. It sounds normal and like there's nothing to worry about but it does sound like he's really desperate to eat and that he doesn't want it taken away. Babies need to be burped and he needs to be able to trust that the bottle will be given back and that he will be able to eat until he is full. I would try feeding him more often and see if he acts a little less desperate to eat!

my baby does the same thing she crys when i try to burp her, throws up and she is fine when shes full and she crys so hard she starts choking.
don't worry about its just because he is so hungry he just wants to eat then he eats to fast and that is why he throws it up.
He might have acid reflux. that's how i found out my baby had acid reflux.
