It depends on how self-aware that person is, and when they happen to look.
Have you ever watched your self washing your hands 60 times a day and were powerless to stop? Me either!

I think to an extent they are they just may not be aware of the severity of their obsession

probibly not at first because i think they ease into it, but something happends to where they realize that its gotten that far. an at that point they either fix it or deal with it
