I'm 14 and I live in Utah. I'd like to see if I have any talent without spending money and without getting an agent? How would I do it?

I really want to become an actress or sing too, And i have been doing auditions, and if they want me to pay, i say no, cause if they really want you they'll pay ( they will just take your money) So just keep looking for auditions and perform, Cause your not gonna get anywhere by getting on ur behind!

Join a youth theater group, that is always a great place to start!

I grew up in Santa Barbara with Eric Stoltz , Anthony Edwards, and Cady Huffman (Tony Award Winner). They were in the Santa Barbara Youth Theater Group, and back then it was popular for casting directors, agents, and entertainment industry people to come up from LA and see the productions. They also were driving down to LA doing commercials and the "ABC After School Specials", and getting good grades in school all at the same time!

But you do not have to wait until you are in college lol! Can you imagine if Eric and Anthony took that kind of advice! They both dropped out of college the first year at USC and went to study with Peggy Fuery. Look at them now!!!

I think the person who DEVELOPS their skills - in whatever vocation they choose - is on the road to success. Whether you want to be a chef, pro skater, pro football or prof actor.

As far as spending money, you will always have to pay for coaching - in any of those fields.

John Robert Powers provides training - in acting, modeling and confidence for both - as well as face to face meetings with agents - it's the best of both worlds for a young person trying to get in the game.

Try going to www.JohnRobertPowers.net to find the nearest location to you. Or else try to find another coach willing to teach as well as introduce you to industry people in your town.

Best of luck!

dont get ahead of yourself. you cant be truely discovered overnight,

are you thinking, getting exposed, being discovered for broadway, commericals, or movies?

if so you need time, to gain experience and stuff. its great that you have a dream. but nothing successful happens that quick.

people spen YEARS in the buisness and still dont get discovered.

but if you want to just see where you stand, try going to a community play or getting into a program in which you can get judged.

Audition for your community theater.
Wait until you go to college and major in drama and perform in as many college productions as you can.
