"OBEs" are really just vivid dreams. There isn't any scientific evidence at all to support the idea that OBEs are real.
See the link below for a good excerpt from the book, "Lives of the Pyschics", about a famous magician who describes his own OBE. It's pretty enlightening. You may have to scroll down a bit to get to the story, but the whole thing is a good read.

Don't be lured in with some pseudo-scientific sounding crap.
Here are some tips to very easily induce what is known as OBE.
Stay up most of the night, and sleep a couple of hours. The next day take a catnap. The idea is to really confuse your body about sleep. You have to sleep more frequently for shorter periods of time.
Sleeping on your back helps for some reason too. Try with no blankets or sheets.
This is enough for most people to have the experience that they associate with OBE, without all kinds of fancy meditating or stuff.

As with nearly any skill, you need to study and learn all that you can about the subject. Practice what you learn until you reach a point of frustration. Give up, and allow it to happen on its own.
Many people want to learn to be a psychic, leave their body, or move things with their mind. My first question to these people is, why? Do you have a motivation other than "that would be really cool!"? The truth is, you cannot force these experiences. You mind needs to be in a relaxed and comfortable state, and you need to have freedom from the daily structure of your life. It can be valuable to read about other people's experiences, but it is limitting to try to duplicate the experiences of another. Work within yourself, and let go. It is not through concerted effort, but through the release of your ties to your concept of reality that you will find that which you seek.
You will experience it when you are ready. That may be soon, it may be years from now, or it may be when your body dies. If you stay aware, you will recognize it when it happens. Good luck!

OBEs are just vivid dreams. All people have dreams that take them "outside" of their bodies, so the trick is to wake up from your dream soon afterwards so you can remember it more vividly.

get a book on the rosecrucians. There are many lessons in there that work but beware, some are a bit scary. Your reality will change once you start messing around with that stuff. Mind did.
