I have a Dell Dimension E510, which came with 256 megs of ram, a Radeon x300 SE 128 meg graphics card, Intel Pentium 4 processor, and a 305 Watt power supply. The components I'd like to buy for 3D gaming are: a 400 watt power supply, a GeForce 8800 GTS 320 meg graphics card, and 2 gigs of RAM.
Does anyone suggest this setup for a 3D gamer? Also, I'd like more sites to purchase a 400 watt power supply for my E510.

8800 GTS (OC version) would draw as much as 10 amps on the +12V rail, the standard 8800 GTS, about 9 amps. For your PC to run stable, you need a power supply with more than 20 amps on the +12V rail. Most 400 watters may not be that capable. Get at least a 480 watter with dual +12V rails. A 550W power supply w/ dual rails should run cooler and give you some more elbow room for upgrades.

My personal opinion for 3d graphics:

Max out that RAM to 4GB

Graphics Card is good, if that's what you want, i know they can get expensive.

Power Supply go 650. You might need the extra power and the price isn't much more especially on eBay.
