hmm i'll shoot for a non bitchy answer here....in a small bathroom with white walls it will reflect the light pretty easily...so 1 could give you enough light to see where you walk but somewhere between 3-5 would probably be more comfortable.

No Idea! I haven't had a bath for something like 17 years, and having candles in the shower is not a good idea. They keep getting snuffed with the water and the matches go all damp and it's just not worth it!

Just enough so that you can see getting in and out of the tub.You dont want to light up those ugly green walls too much!

i guess it depends on the size of your bathroom/bathtub or what kind of tub you have. But i'd say 6; 3 on each side of you,if practical. If not, just 3 right next to you should do the trick.
