I'm looking at real estate listings for houses and have seen descriptions which indicate "new ARC roofing". What is an ARC roof?

I would be willing to guess that they are using ARC as an abbreviation for "architectural".

Architectural roofing refers to laminated shingles, also known as dimensional shingles. These are designed to mimic the look of old wooden shakes and are available in a variety of styles, weights, colors and warranties.

I'm not familar with the term. Could it be a misprint and it really is ARC proofing? All outlets in bedrooms have to have arc proof citcuit breakers now. It is a safety device that will trip the breaker if there is an arc in the wiring.

I'm not sure about the arc roofing, maybe I would know it by another name.

As far as I know, arc roofing refers to curved, usually made of metal. I've never seen it on a house though, usually it's used for pavillions and such.
