I hav tried to overclock my CPU by adjusting the multiplier, the frequency, and my CPU voltage (to stablize it all) but every little change i do causes my computer to crash and give me a blue screen that says that the chages cannot be applied. I tried making the smallest changes possible but it still crashes. I even tried using the "AI overclocking" feature which is supposed to be set to how the comp sees fit., it still didnt work.
plz help

Overclocking AMDs can be tricky, because every change you make to the CPU speed directly changes the HyperTransport speed and the RAM speed, meaning you have three different things to juggle all at once. I could probably help you out, but I would need more specifics. Send me an instant message if you can and we can try to work through this.

Never use the automatic overclocking feature. I did that before I so PC savvy and recall it upped the voltage to 1.6v ! and the PC was unstable. The voltage is the last thing you should mess with, and you shouldn't take it above 1.4v and you need to monitor the temps (under 50*c is good under full load).

You should really read a few overclocking guides to get the general idea.

When overclocking an X2, you need to balance the adjustments to keep it running correctly (HT, RAM, Bus, etc).

The althons have locked multipliers, you won't be able to regulate it that way, you will could desire to strengthen the front area bus (FSB). The cpus with unlocked multipliers stands out as the FX sequence if socket 939 or now they have the Black sequence on socket am2. additionally, in case you strengthen the FSB you will overclock your memory, which will in all probability not overclock sufficient to make the two.4 you % until you have quickly memory sticks or loosen the memory timings some.

Previous guy is right. And if you changed the voltage on the MB, you could have messed up the voltages for the RAM as well.

Not all motherboards will allow you to overclock.
