to live? How 'bout one where they don't speak ANY language that you speak reasonably well?

I already did that once but could do the same again. When I went to Seoul, Korea in 1974, didn't know a word of (hanguk). I learned to read/write and speak the language-which has characters for alphabet.
Would find it a wonderful challenge to learn any additional language, especially Chinese, because it is supposed to be the most difficult. I do know about 100 characters already. Also speak/read and write German fluently.

Latvia.

I stated there for a month and loved it, but most of the people spoke a little English, and many spoke some Russian. I speak a little Russian, but absolutely no Latvian (except vilks, grust, and bier).

I don't think I would choose to live somewhere where I couldn't speak ANY of the language, or vice versa. I speak a little Spanish and most major cities have many English speakers.

So I'm think like, Nirobi, Egypt, Darfur, Pakistan, Tasmania... nah, no place I would really want to live.

As far as foreign countries go, I'm more of a continental Europe kind of guy.

Great Britain...they certainly don't speak American there.

Or secondarily, France, as my mother was born there and I can get around in it fairly well, though not as fluent as I was as a kid, when I had to have "English as a second language" classes for Kindergarten, rofl.

I would go to Bali as a first choice, and then Florence as the second.

Nobody speaks my language sometimes...I have gotten used to it by now.

I really enjoyed my time in Thailand. The people are some of the nicest in the world. If I had to live anywhere else, I could live there happily.

Germany, since English is a Guamanian language it wouldn't be too hard to pick up.
