Yes, but since it sounds like it's homework, and you sound like the person that puts off a summer project until the day before school starts (no offense, maybe you aren't), I'd say you'd have to really buckle down and start reading.

Well, I suppose it depends how fast you read and if you find the books interesting or not, but it can certainly be done. A good way to start though is to keep away from the computer and other possible distractions. Good luck!

If you read quickly.
You can always skim them...read every word, but quickly, to get the main ideas of the book, as you go along. That's a technique I used when in a real hurry....

I might be able to if I didn't have a job and could devote all of the time to doing that, But i don't think i would enjoy it. If it's for a class maybe you should just skim some of the chapters to get the general idea, so you don't crash and burn.

There are people who can read 589 pages in an hour. That's doesn't seem to be an overwhelming task to accomplish in a week.
