i have a 91 s10 manual pickup w/98,000 miles. The air condition works and comes out the bottom vent however i cant get any air or heat to come out the vents along the dash. can i fix this myself and if so how?, or do i need to take it to the mechanic

The cable that opens the vents with no output may be snapped off or it may have unhooked. Check the moving door that controls it and see if you can move it manually. The actuator may be a manual one or a vacuum one but I would think either way the duct is not being opened.

could be something as simple as a vaccum line leaking or off those vents are controlled by vaccum from the engine some of those models had manual controls some had electronic may be something in the control also

It's a complicated mess of vacumn hoses, and a few electric wires, but with patience, and time you can fix it. You can do anything if you put your mind to it. That saying is true!
