It has to be from a real college or university and it should be verifiable.

The nature of a real college is such that you can't buy a degree from them. You can buy a fake degree from a diploma mill all day, they almost always end up worthless.

I'd advise that you are very careful using such a degree. The best thing that can happen is that you get fired, the worst thing that can happen is that you go to prison for fraud.

I'm not sure that I'd want to be in prison and have to explain to my new roommates that my crime was that I used a fake college degree...

There is no college that will sell you a degree. Diploma mills may tell you the degree is "verifiable," but employers are aware of this scam. What's funny about this is that real colleges don't offer this kind of service, so employers know right away that you bought a fake degree.

This is illegal, unethical and just a bad idea. There is no way around studying.

Search ed.gov for "unaccredited diploma mill".

Whoever they're recently investigating is probably a source of degrees for money without work.

Now, having it be worth anything more than an expensive wall hanging is another problem. Especially since any legit certifying agency or school is going to pretty much laugh at you if you try to do anything with it...
