My brand new cingular samsung d807 won't work. It turns on, and i can do all the regular functions, but it won't get service. I know it should because i had cingular before this, and my family has cingular.
Also, I have a cingular motorola e1 that decided to quit working to. The lights light up for about 10 sec, then it shuts off

yea i heard that one before. i know people that bought phones that are now on the new at&t network and that is what their new phone says- but the signal and the reception is nothing like it used to be..... its may sound odd but there is really nothing that u can do unless u decide u dont want the services, but i would recommend that u call them and tell them what is going on because an area that cingular once covered should still be an area where service is received

bad battery take to a store and they will exchange for you
