I am planning to buy a nintendo ds lite. I inquired about the games and the lady at the store says something about the add-on where i can download my games and it stores 10 games. What is better, buying games individually or using this "add-on"? Is the "add-on" cartridge like thingy legal anyway? =)

that add on thing that you're talking about is like an SD card, in function. what it can do is download roms of games and you can play them on the DS. however, if you do not own the actual game, you cannot legally own a ROM for more than twenty four hours. while the chances of being caught are slim to none, it is still illegal

I have heard of it it's illegal and I'm a goody two shoes so I wouldn't even look and the thing and if I bought it I would be filled with guilt and even if I get rid of it... well? oh and my parents are friends with a lot of police. I suggest, DON'T BUY IT MY FRIEND.
