Maggie, I think that is a cute name and not a lot are named Maggie. Plus I don't much care for the name Valerie it sounds too preppy and "valley girl" to me. Go with Maggie. Not that I'm saying all Valeries are "Valley girls" but that's what I think of when I hear that name. Kinda like Amber or Courtney.

I like Maggie a lot better. Valerie is nice, but sounds too old-fashioned to me. Maggie is one of my favorite names.

Valerie is the better name. It just flows off the tounge so sensuosly. Also you can have a nickname with Valerie (Val).
I really don't like the name Maggie, it makes me think of a maggot every time I say it. Sorry to be so gruesome, but I that's the truth.

I hate the name Maggie- sounds like a dog, or the character from The Simpsons. Sounds like "Naggy". Valerie is unique and pretty!

I like Valerie better. Reason being - there are WAY too many dogs named Maggie. My grandmother had a dog Maggie Mae.. so whenever I hear Maggie all I can think of are dogs!!

Valerie just sounds like some girl who has all the guys crazy!

If it is for an animal I think Valerie is too much like a persons name....

Valerie is very nice, cuz you could call her Val, Ree, Valley.
But I think Maggie is a good nickname, her name could be Margaret, and you can also call her Marge, Mag, Margie.
