Long after I'd done a tour of duty for four years on an aircraft carrier, I visited one that had been preserved as a naval museum, with my family. I was describing the work I'd done (flight deck crewman), and another family sort of joined up with us as we walked along. After a while I said that I apologized if I was boring the family, and the mother of the family said, "I just want to thank you, for all of us, for what you did for us while in the Navy". That was the FIRST time anyone outside the immediate family ever said something like that, and it really meant a great deal to me.

This came from a lady that I have known since her kids rode the school bus with me when I was a kid.
She told me how much my kids look like me. When I make a wise crack about not knowing if that was a good thing or a bad thing, she responded by saying,
"Oh, no, take it as a good thing. I've always thought you were a cute one." Then she looked into my eyes and said, "And you still are."
It made my day, even if she is pushing 50.

I am an entertainer and once after a performance a little boy came up to me and asked if I would autograph his hand. His Mom said it was ok so I did. I was very honored, he was only about five years old.

My adopted sister told me this [it was a card, actually]: "Today, I asked God to send you a guardian angel. So, He did. Soon enough, the angel came to me and said, 'Sorry. You know I can't do that. It's against policy. You see, an angel doesn't need to watch over another angel.' "

Well for graduation, I had my hair all curly, and a nice dress on,
and my grandpa really doesn't compliment me, and he like
almost cried and said I looked really pretty, beautiful actually.
It was like stronger than saying, "I love you."
I almost cried, it was just an awesome feeling.
