Have you been feeding them??...if so they won't go away. If you don't want them around call animal control and have them removed. This is a kind way to handle this situation instead of letting them starve.
Good luck

NEVER feed them!! When they are hungry, they will look for food. If there is no food in your yard, they will look elsewhere to eat.
My dad had lots of wild cats in his yard when he lived in the hills in Milpitas, CA. These cats were really mean and dangerous. They would attack people!
His wife (not my mom) would feed them, even though he told her not to, so they would never leave. Why should they? They were being taken care of. The number of cats increased!
The only way Dad got rid of the cats was to catch them and take them to a different location.

Check your local pet store for cat repellent. You should be able to just apply it to the perimeter of your yard, and they won't want to cross the line. Don't put it on your whole yard, because it smells pretty awful. It's been keeping my neighbor's cat out of my basement for about six months, though.
Good luck.

Actually I watched an interesting TV about wolves and how a researcher came up with a way to keep them off farms. He played a recording of their different howls and it worked. Maybe try that, go to a Humane Society and ask if you get a recording of the dogs barking. Sounds silly but it might work.

I don't understand the problem. Cats, squirrels, birds--they all move around in the area they call 'home'. Backyards are part of it. Let them live their lives, cats usually have a home range of several blocks, it's not like they live 24/7 in a small back yard.
