If you don't want to spend the $400 to get MSOffice, then you should try OpenOffice from http://www.openoffice.org

It's a free desktop suite of applications like MSOffice and it has both PowerPoint-type and Word-type applications.

Vista drives me nuts! I like the features but...my computer won't do a update that it should and when I go looking for the answer it still doesn't work. Things work fine for awhile then it screws up all by itself. This week I no longer have the 3D flip or Aero.. tried to fix this, also didn't work. Then the task bar moves without me doing anything to it! Every week it seems like something new, just as I think everything is normal, something else happens. Really does piss me off.

What pisses me off is people who post their question in the wrong category. It doesn't take a brain to do that. :((
EDIT:
Hey Eye, I'm sorry I got you angry but I came to this section hoping to answer a few questions on Alternative Medicine and yours was at the top of the list. I suppose I found that a bit annoying. Anyway, Don't blame Vista. Blame Microsoft. When I bought my new XP four years ago, Word and Powerpoint weren't on there either.

I run into that with XP. Had worked for a long time with Word Perfect and saved a lot of files. Now, XP doesn't have WP and I can't open them unless I buy the high priced WP. :-( Pops

there are plenty of people out there that share your pain. IT guys are also on the list. a good chuck of business wont upgrade because of the amount of space it takes up and patching concerns come up way too often. joe public likes the bells and whistles but the guts leave a little too much to be desired.

I hate the fact that THE GATES company has chosen to stick it in & break it off, isnt he rich enough for GODS Sake?
Why make us pay for it when it was free or at least on some operating systems.
Also I dont like the way it operates.

Vista is so aggravating. I had to get a new freaking printer b/c the old one wouldn't work w/ my new laptop. And I can check my university e-mail b/c I have Vista. How lame is that?

I hear allot of people that do not like the vista windows. I think all of vista is so new to everyone that it is much harder to learn to operate. I am glad that you cannot update xp to vista.
