In Texas it will still probably get you a ticket if a cop stops you. However the probability of getting stopped, if your not doing something else to call attention to yourself is unlikely. Best bet is to check with your local DMV folks.

Not in Texas (and probably anywhere else). If two plates are issued, they must be attached to the front and rear bumpers or an alternate location such as a pan, or holder mounted prominently in the front and rear of the vehicle. The rear plate needs illumination and no part of the plate may be covered. Good luck!

So long as you display it on the back and the front (if that's whats mandated in your state) and it doesn't impede your vision, you should be fine. Any cop should be able to tell you.

The only legal way is too attach them to the car on the bumpers where they are supposed to go.
