San Diego. It's one of America's safest big cities and you can easily find an studio or one bedroom apartment for $1000 a month in a decent or nice area. I live in Pacific Beach, which is a great community to live in if you're younger and in you 20's, and there are many 1 bedrooms in the area for around $1,0000. I'm about 8 blocks from the beach and the one bedrooms are $1000 or under but as you get closer to the ocean it gets more expensive and as you head farther east it gets cheaper. Other cool and safe parts of SD around downtown are even slightly cheaper. SD is a great city to live in with amazing weather and it's cheaper and a much better deal compared to what you would get up in LA or SF. Merrillville IN is about 20 miles away and about that for a nice apartment.
