Being sentenced to death for sure. You can do all you want to repent for your crime, it won't change what you did. To not be forgiven for your crime, most criminals could care less if they are forgiven, cause they wouldn't have comitted the crime in the first place if they had a conscience or compassion.

I don't think the criminal ever repents of actually killing someone...they might regret being in prison but I really doubt they really care if they are forgiven or not. I would say that the bigger punishment is not sentencing them to death, I would let them die in a prison cell where they can't enjoy "freedom", that's a bigger punishment...know there are good and amazing things out there and they'll never be able to enjoy.

Definately having to live and breathe with the facts of what you did, it would be tormenting, maybe not straight away, but definately eventually. And not being forgiven would give you no relief at all, even more tormenting.
Would you be able to live with what you done, it would be horrible to even wake up, never mind the thought of death would be feared all the time.

Spening the rest of your life, year after year, trying to repent and feeling nothing but guilt, no matter what you did is a horrible thought.........

I would rather be sentenced to death than have to spend the rest of my life repenting only to not be forgiven.

Well, throughout history ppl have always been scared of the death penalty. Like "OOH, he's getting the chair". But I have heard that some crimnals say they rather get the death thing because they won't have to suffer, and wouldn't want to spend their life in prison. So I would say the bigger and better punishment is the torture like thing. Because people die and then they won't really know or suffer the consequences.
