Yes it is very possible to feel lonely even in a crowded room. That reminds me of a song by Roy Orbison, I think it was called "the Only One". It explains how I feel sometimes. The thing is this to shall pass. I hope for you it does and does so quickly.

I feel like that constantly. I could be in the middle of a room with my closest friends & relatives & still feel so alone. It's something I've always struggled with.... that's why sometimes I can be such a wall flower even at my own gatherings becuz I just can't get over that feeling.

Yes, feeling lonely is like being gripped by an entity that has a mind of its own. Loneliness can cut one off from a sense of connection to others, no matter the nearness or numbers of people around.

This usually happens to me when I'm disconnected somehow... either I don't feel like I fit in, or I feel ignored. It could be I have a head cold and just feel isolated.

I think it happens to everybody from time to time.

yeah, it is. That's a sign of depression, feeling isolated and misunderstood by others. Feeling different. It's horrible. It's fixable, too.

oh yes, thats called the life and times of pretty mama damnit, lonliness has about become my friend, sometimes its a good thing while other times it's just plain sad
