I've got the same problem...and it's not funny, is it. Crying is such a healing experience...especially when they're tears of joy. I used to do that at church...when I would feel this "love" pouring all over me. I felt so close to God and it seemed like I could feel His love for me...like He had His arms around me. Now...when bad things happen,I can't cry...or when good things happen. Once in awhile I'll see something on tv that makes me cry a little, It's awful not to be able to cry when bad things happen. It's like I'm "afraid" to cry..even though I want to. It's not the same kind of tears you get from onions. I think people can do or say things to you that cause "emotional numbing" or "frozen emotions". Guess it's psychological. Maybe we can't relax enough to cry. Wish there was a pill for it.

Listening to really sad music with sad lyrics might do it. There are several songs that make me cry such as "The Rose" by Bette Midler and I have a CD by Tony Braxton called "Secrets" that has very few songs on that don't make me cry. Give that a try if you feel like it.

I am not convinced that crying is the best answer. Why don't you try another method of bringing down your stress? You should be trying to find a way to make yourself relaxed, not make yourself cry. It seems to me like crying is just going to make things worse, like you have accepted defeat to your stresses. I dont necessarily know your situation, but I recommend taking a vacation!

Take a vacation to a distant city and attend a strong church service and cry a happy cry of joy because of the really good sermon or heartfelt religious singing.
Taking long trips naturally helps also to reduce stress.

Cut an onion and rub a little of the juice in your eye. You will cry from the pain and then eventually you will cry from your stress.

Probably all the tension is making you unable to cry. What I would do is do something that's relaxing to you, whether it's read a book, get a massage, or anything you find relaxing. Maybe that will loosen the tension enough for you to cry.

it doesnt make it easier on you just because you cry.
i get really stressed sometimes where i am past crying, its normal.
i dont know if you are a spiritual person, but if you are, read the scriptures. reading about my savior helps me remember what he did for me, and i know that he watches over me when i am stressed...
i wont get too spiritual on you, but it is normal to be burned out of tears if you have a lasting period of stress.

When I'm stressed, I usually talk to someone I can trust, like my mother. Letting everything out can ease the pain and eventually cause you to cry.

If you can't cry take your frustrations out in another way. Scream into a pillow, Make your own punching bag and pound away, go for a run, go outside and hit some balls (baseballs).

it never occured to me to try crying when I'm stressed out. I generally just try drinking until I'm feeling happy. That usually works for me.
