I assume you are talking about the trade unions in the US which are controlled by corporations or by criminal groups, and where any 'Free Trade Unions' are persecuted by the state and federal governments. Or are you talking about trade unions in countries controlled by right-wing dictatorships as in many South American countries, in a number of Asian countries (Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, South Korea etc).

Trade Unions in Australia, New Zealand and Britain, plus in a number of European countries are very active about workers rights.

they dont have much power any more and are unable to protest about their own conditions at the moment
