As I've watched the debates I've found it odd that there are democratic journalists moderating both the democratic and republican debates. Then it dawned on me. Aside from the Fox News, Tucker Carlson and Scarborough at MSNBC, are there any conservative journalists that could moderate a debate on PBS, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, or anywhere else?

John Stossel of CBS is the only journalist on the alphabet networks that I can think of that is a conservative.

I think the idea of a "moderated" debate defeats the purpose of the entire concept of a debate. All the "moderator" should be allowed to do is to make sure that the rules regarding answers and rebuttals are followed, and to keep the process moving smoothly.

None of this garbage about only questions that are preselected or preapproved being allowed. ALL questions should come from the people in the audience with NO pre-screening or pre-selection of those in attendance. If a candidate can't handle direct questions from the people in the audience, they aren't worth the gunpowder it would take to blow them away!

I've got two words for you. FOX NEWS. They've got Sean Hannity, John Gibson, Brit Hume and a whole list of others. Tony Snow was with 'em until he went to work at the White House.

As for non-partisan debate moderators... there is no such thing as a non-partisan person, at least not in the category of people who know a thing about politics, so why would there ever be such a thing as a non-partisan moderator?

People who think there is such a thing as a non-partisan moderator are the VERY REASON the mainstream media are getting away with not giving the right a fair shake, ever, and not being harangued for it.

It would be nice to have more non-partisan moderators, but that's not what the democrats want. They like it being biased in their favor. Heck, they're more scared of appearing in a balanced forum like Fox News than meeting with murdering thug dictators like Chavez, Castro and Ahmadinejad.

It must be scary to be a progressive liberal democrat. They have to worry all that time that they may just accidentally let is slip what their real agenda is for this country.

There are certainly journalists favorable to the Republicans working for the Wall Street Journal-at least its editorial page.

All of them that work for any channel or newspaper owned by the extreme right-winger Murdoch are by definition Republican, or are forced to pretend to be.

No, sweetheart. You want a non-partisan moderator.
