i have 1 GB ram and would like to kno if it is worth upgrading to 2?

If you are on Vista, it is definitely worth it. Otherwise, just spend your money on other upgrades.

If you have Vista you need 2 GB.
If you have XP you only need 1GB.
As RAM is only $40 per GB, a lot of people install more hoping for even better performance.

Some computers have a maximum limit to the amount of RAM it can have in it. Most can handle 2 gigs.
If you have the money, it is BY FAR worth it.

If you run memory intensive programs then I would say go for it. I do not run a lot of programs like that at home and I upgrade mine and there is no noticeable difference.

definitely.
theres a saying that says you can never have to much ram.
although I'd say 1GB is enough if you don't really use excessive memory consuming programs.
