Couldn't win the big games, no championships. Pocket passer only, and not to mention a weak arm. He also had an attitude problem and couldn't get along with coaches. Not even in the top 25 in my book.

That must be a joke. He played the majority of his career with no running game, no defense, and good but no outstanding WR. WEAK ARM??? He had one of the tightest spirals, quick releases, and threw the ball 50 yards without fail. Peyton Manning is a pocket passer only; let me tell you the only difference between him and Marino is Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. The only coach he ever ad an issue with was Jimmy Johnson and rightfully so as he wanted to put the offense into the hands of unproven RB's. BTW, He only played for JJ and Shula anyway. Top 10 because if you are only juding him on not winning a SB then that is ridiculous as he is one of the best statistical QB's that ever played and was not a "compiler" as some other atheletes just to hit milestones. He knew he was done and didn't over stay his welcome. Give the guy some credit...who are the other 25 QB's better thank Marino???

Absolutely top 5...probably top 3. You must be a Jets fan. Dan was the most prolific passer to ever play the game and still holds most of the major records. He compiled these records with no running game, which means that the opposing team was always in a "pass" defense (They were allowed to truly defend receivers in his day, as well... in today's game, you can't even breathe on a receiver without the refs calling pass interference, so it's much easier to get big passing numbers now than it used to be). Every team knew what the Dolphins were going to do every game, but NONE could stop him. He and Shula were/are best friends, so that comment about not getting along with the coaches is absurd. As far as the other great Qb's go, they all have a ton of respect for Dan "The Man" Marino. Just last week, Brett Favre was asked how he felt about having a chance to break a couple of Dan's records this year. He responded, " I would never consider myself better, or even as good as Dan Marino". If you were to take a poll from every NFL quarterback alive today, I guarantee that they would place him in the top 5. He was and always will be "The Man".

Why?--His passing records. Where?--Hm, Top 10 maybe...but definitely Top 20.
Couldn't win the big games, huh? It takes a team to win the ultimate game (the Uber Bore) and Dan had no D nor a running game. He did the best he could. He "won" plenty of big games as the Marine Mammals were in playoffs many seasons and winning an AFC Championship Game is not a big game in your books? If not, then it sure ain't a Week 3 matchup.

A weak arm? You must be joking. He had as beuatiful a spiral as Namath.

Attitude problem? Not with Shula.

Not even in your Top 25--that's a joke. Come on! He's in anyone's Top 25. You do not measure a QB by championships alone? I mean, do you honestly think Jeff Hostetler, Doug Williams or Jim McMahon are better QBs because they played in Uber Bore winning teams?

Dude, have you ever looked at his stats. If you haven't take a look at them and compare them to all the other QB's. He is one of the best QB's of all time. Barry Sanders never went to a championship or anything, and he is easily one of the top 3 running backs ever to enter the NFL. Just because a player has never won a championship doesn't make them a bad player. Can you argue with that? Are you gonna say Barry Sanders isn't even a top 25 RB. You can't say a player isn't that good because they have never won a championship, that's just dumb.

Winning a championship does not make you a great quarterback. I think the most overrated part in judging a quarterback is measuring how many ring they has. So, is Trent Differ better than Dan Marino. The answer is no. If you measure quarterback by championships than surley Otto Graham is best quarterback of all-time he won eight tittles. The best quarterback of all-time by my standards was Dan Marino.

Can anybody name 25 better quarterbacks than Dan Marino.

Gotta give you a lotta credit for this question, you sure stirred up the Marino lovers. Have to agree with most of your assessments, however, he did not have a weak arm and he is top 10 at least.

Top 5.

He set all the records because he had to, he did not have a running game or a defense so his job was scoring more points than the other team.

What about the 37 4th quarter comebacks? That tells you how many times he had to carry his team because the defense was not capable of getting the job done

WOW....I'm flabbergasted...are you ok.

Ummm I'll just answer by saying go get a record book and look at who holds almost every record for quarterback

most tds all time
most yds all time
most completions all time
most yds in a season

most 400 yd games
most 300 yd games

he was just one man
his defense sucked
and he never had a running game

and a weak arm? wow that is just a really really really stupid statement.

Are you on crack? He was very coachable, hasnearly every single yds./tds. record there is to have and had great mechanics. He didn't NEED to be a runner! Besides, he couldn't win those games by himself! He needed a good RB (only played with ONE RB in his career that managed a 1,000+ yd. season, Karim Abdul Jabbar) and some consistency in the O-line that he never got! He had a BRILLIANT career all things considered as his FIRST BALLOT HOF election can attest to!
