What does the hold function on a thermostat do?

The hold function allows you to hold a certain temperature for as long as you want to.
This is helpfull if going away on vacation or a long weekend, so you dont have to keep your home comfortable while your gone.
Otherwise use the programed function to keep comfortable when your home.

my hold function keeps my inside temp at a constant , whether it needs to turn on the air or the heat.....

You press 'hold' on the thermostat so it can't hear your conversation, silly!
