God has listened to me, and saved me on so many different levels throughout my life. I know that I pray, and sometime it is answered and sometimes not. I also know that the reasons that they are not answered, doesn't mean he isn't listening, it means that there is another reason that what I prayed for doesn't happen. Although I don't know the reasons that the prayers weren't answered to my expectations, I do know that later, the reasons become clear. And maybe not even immediately after the "no", in some instances it has become clear YEARS later, and I think to myself, "if it had been different, this wouldn't have turned out the way it did", so there is an explanation, even though the reasons may not be clear at the time.
I know that God knows what is best for me, I know that he loves me, and that he already has a plan in place for me, my family and my life. Everyday, I wake up and pray "thank you God" and every night, I pray "bless all those I love", and "enough"--what enough means is that I can't change what is or what will be unless God wants me to. So worrying about it does no good, and doubting his divine "intervention" only makes me worry, and stress, which I don't need to do, because I have faith that God handles everything for me. I believe that if God brought me to it, he'll bring me through it!!!
I pray to feel better, more of a "reassurance" than a need. I thank him, and recognize him for all the good, and when there is bad, I remember that there is some point that God wants me to learn, experience or use later to share with others. I don't necessarily think that prayer changes things, because it is my hope and faith in God that changes things, because I have a better outlook that is positive!!
Thanks!!!

Sweetie, I think God answers all prayers. I think the answer is frequently "No." Whether or not there is a need to pray is an individual choice. I pray when I want to. I think any/everyone should handle it the way they think best. Prayer almost always makes me feel better. It seems I mostly pray when I'm afraid for someone else. It seems to me that it helps to pass the worry to something much more capable. I think God likes it when we "talk" to him; and I think all thought is a form of prayer.
Two things I believe with all my heart:
God has nothing to do with the "bad" things here on Earth. God is only about good.
Be careful what you wish for...you may get it.

I've had great expierence with prayer and then I've also had unanswered prayers. God has a master plan and he knows how everything is going to turn out and when things will happen. Just because we pray to God to get a raise, that dosen't mean it is going to happen immeaditly or even happen at all. We are only a small part of a really big picture. Some prayers may not be answered because it is not the right time, or you may not benefit from it how God wants you do. God always hears or prayers, we just have to be patient. I can tell though that on certain things I have prayed about, like self growth, I really feel better. It's all about your walk with God...The closer you become to him and reach out to him, the closer he will listen.
Hope I helped :)

Well yes I do believe that when one prays that God answers their prayer. I may not be the answer the person was looking for, but I believe the God will give you what you NEED not what you WANT to happen in life. I know for sure that he does.

I'm not overly religious but I do pray a lot. This is how I feel about it, God definitely works in mysterious ways. He won't straight out answer. However, he will lead you to the answer in a subtle way. In turn, you receive the lesson from it. Sometimes, you won't exactly love the answer but in time you see how it was the right one.
There isn't just one way to pray. Sometimes, it's just a conversation we have to ourselves and God is background listening.
Like i said, I'm not overly religious. I went thru a phase where I was just angry and I still can be sometimes. I can be very conflicted when it comes to higher powers. But thats what i think finding faith is. I don't think I'll ever have blind faith, but i talk to God, I ask him to forgive me for this and hope he encourages what faith I have.
The one thing i definitely have lost faith in is the church as an institution. I definitely think some of God's people have gotten it wrong. So i use my free will and believe what I know is right in my heart. I think God mostly agrees with me.
Hope this helps!

I don't believe prayer does anything apart from support the person who is praying.
I dont believe in god, so I do not believe in prayer. But i do know that prayer gives people a sense of hope and purpose.

I believe a person can pray to God and he will answer your prayers. It may not always be the answer you are looking for but it's what God has in store for you. Have you ever heard the song "I thank God for unanswered prayers" by Garth Brooks? Sometimes prayers are better left unanswered and it isn't because he didn't hear you, he just has something better in store for you. Pray away sweetie, he's listening!

I KNOW God ansers prayers. He has answered many of mine. The key to him answering your prayers is to pray according to His will. How do u do that u ask? U stay in constant communion with God and u know his will and he will direct u on how to pray! I KNOW prayer changes things I have experienced it many, many times:)

I pray each day, and several times a day, now to explain if GOD answers all prayer, yes HE does; maybe not to your liking, but in HIS will. Does prayer change things, yes, and by that I mean that it changes you. GOD gave us free will, and it is up to us to learn what HE wants of us. Each, and every individual has a purpose here on earth, and we should not judge others, that is up to GOD HIMSELF. You do what you want, don't listen to others, not even me.

God will answer when the time and situation is right, we might prays for something not suitable at a specific time, but prayer keeps us in tune with God and he keeps us and grants us his grace and peace and we become more aware of presence when we pray. We need to ask him what to pray specifically at a given time. He encourages to pray. James 5v.16 says pray for one another that you may be healed, the fervent prayers of a righteous man avails much. Jesus prayed, he taught his disciples to pray. 1 Thes. ch. 5.v.17 Pray without ceasing many more refs in Bible.
