The WBC is through Major League Baseball and has nothing to do with the International Olympic Committee or the Olympic Games. It was launched as a means to generate interest in the MLB product throughout the world - a promotional tool before the season starts.

If the WBC winner is from Japan or Korea case in point time and holiday could must be considered a lot of human beings don't understand or understand purely how lots fatigue one suffers stepping into a much off places united states of america for entertainment - nevermind with the rigidity of athletic opposition.

Because for some reason Bud "The Idiot" Selig thinks we like to see players divided onto teams by race. They do that for the minor league all star games too. It's a true show of racism if you ask me (and I'm white).

What he should have done was take all of the best players and put them into a raffle and create 8-10 teams (or how ever many they had in the WBC). That would have been more entertaining than seeing Sammy Sosa on one team and Michael Young on another team.

International marketing and sales growth.

Seligula is all about the money, about selling the game. He really is good at that, whatever his many other failings.

IOC didn't want baseball in anymore.

It's all about advertising though.
