my husband just got his fuel rail and injectors replaced due to leaking gas. he was driving his car today and started smelling gas so he pulled over and looked under the hod and saw gas spraying all over the engine. he said its not coming from the fuel rail but looks like a little puncture somewhere...trying to explain to me that there is a rubber seal or something where the spray is coming from..sorry if im confusing u. just wondering what would be causing this gas spray/leak like this? any ideas? one more thing, our car shakes when driving but more noticable when stopped..would this be caused by leaking gas? please any and all advice welcome!!!!!!

It sounds like the fuel injector rail was not the problem but rather the fuel line before the fuel rail.

There is a little fitting, like a tire valve stem, that allows them to test the fuel pressure and to perform a fuel injector cleaning service by attaching a pressurized can of cleaner to the fuel line after diasbling the fuel pump.

If you have gasoline spraying this is like driving a bomb around and any spark can ignite these vapors and you'll have a fire on your hands that could burn the car to the ground.

Do not go anywhere without a fire extinguisher that is rated for fuel/oil fires (a "B" rating) like a ABC or BC or just a B rating.

Best bet is to make the shop that fixed it tow it back to the shop and fix it right this time.

Good Luck!

Um yeah the shakes are probably caused by air leaking into yoru fuel. Without seeing where the leak is I can't tell you what is leaking, different cars use different fuel line materieal for different cars. If a line was incorrectly attached to the regulator or the injectors this would cause a leak also if the hose is rubber is could be the vacuum line attached to the regulator but if gas is leaking out of it you have a real problem and need a new regulator. If I had to guess anything I would imagine that the shop forgot an O-ring or inproperly connected a quick disconnect fitting. I would take the car right back to the shop, scratch that I would have the shop tow the vehicle for you and have them fix there mistake.

you would be familiar to the area commute that blew up quickly after launch. that's the comparable situation that must be yours. those darn NASA O-rings. It that is leaking at that is base, i could be searching for a O-ring. there have been some comments of leaking gasoline matters with this motor vehicle in an ordinary Google seek. maximum look the gasoline tank. i could look genuine heavily at the place you think of that is leaking to confirm that isn't any longer a leak that is following a gasoline line going to the injector that is actual a source further away. experience alongside the lines for any wetness. only observe, gasoline injection is below extreme tension in lots of cases approximately 50 PSI. So do no longer attempt any kit on the lines except the stress has been bled off. The gadget can carry this tension for it slow inspite of the engine off. i could additionally stick to the different propose given besides.

The fuel line must have a leak or crack in it. Have the mechanic run the fuel line as the leak maybe where the pressurized line connects to the engine.

the injector O-ring may have gotten nicked during installation, or the fuel pressure regulator maybe leaking due to improper installation or the fuel line to the rail maybe leaking due to fatigue or improper installation.
