Same kind of thing happened to me back in 1995. I went to the emergency room after taking off from work, because I wasn't sure what the problem was at the time. I thought they would give me a pill or a shot, instead three hours later I was on the operating table having a blood clot removed. It was effecting the blood flow to my brain and causing dizzy spells. I hope this isn't what your problem is, but if I were you I would get yourself checked out right away.

Okay I just want to say that ALL of these answers are awesome, alot of serious replies... To whom asked this question, write all these down, and take the list to your doctor and ask him to check for all of these...wouldn't hurt to get them all out of the way....
you say you get them ever so often, how often?? Just because you're not pregnant doesn't mean it can't be hypertension.... Im not pregnant and suffer from it, and it does cause dizzy spells...also make sure you're hydrated...getting enough fluids is very important... I hope you keep us posted, would like to know the outcome!! god bless and good luck!!

Go to a doctor and have them check your thyroid, sometimes that will cause dizzyness.
They will have you get a simple blood test for it. And if it messed up you take a pill a day.
Or it could be an inner ear infection. Same thing, you have to go to a doctor for a diagnosis and medication.

Ask your doctor to check your thyroid. It may be over-active, and could cause the dizzy spells. Generally, with an overactive thyroid, one tends to be underweight.

hmm..does your vision go kinda gray? cause if it does..it sounds like the same thing I've had. The doctors tested me for a brain tumor, but I didn't have one. They're thinking it may be migraines.
It may be a good idea to consult your doctor to see what's up.

It could be low blood sugar or low blood pressure. If it happens more frequently over time, or if each episode lasts longer, I would call your doctor.
