12 months old atleast for cows milk (later if a family of milk allergy). I have heard of some babies having to have milk very early like that for medical reasons but milk can cause a lot of health problems as well if given to early so it is always best to wait as long as you can before giving milk.

I am assuming you are talking about cow's milk, and a child should not have any until they are at least 1 year old. Until then, they should have breast milk or formula. Make sure once you start giving them milk, that it is whole milk until they are 2 years old.

Don't give a baby cow's milk until 1 year. Before that it's soy or breast milk - rice milk's probably fine also.

I don't get it. Do you mean cow's milk? Baby's should not have cows milk until 12months old. Thats what i have been told and my youngest is 15months. i breast fed her for 13months and she went straight on to cows milk.
Babies tummy are not equipt to have cows milk until around 12months, thats why they made formula for mothers who can not breast feed. mothers milk or formula should be the only source of nutrition for a young baby as cows milk does not give the right nutrition.

According to the Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy:

The only acceptable alternative to breastfeeding in the 1st yr is formula; water can cause hyponatremia, and whole cow's milk is not nutritionally complete

end quote.

Therefore, the infant should not have cow's milk used in place of formula or breast milk.

Baby's should not get regular cow's milk until they are a year old. Then they need whole milk (aka vitamin D) until they are about four.

you're supposed to wait until 12 months. Although most of my family started around 10.

12 months. It's not as nutritional as breast milk or formula.
