Wayne Dyer a famous self help author tells it like this. Meeting a lady she tells him, she is moving to a new york city have you been there? what are the people like there? he asks, what are the people like where your from? OH she says im from LA there rude and arrogant., Well then you will find New York to be the same
Another lady the same day I'm moving to New York. what are the people like there? What are the people like where your from? OH I'm from LA the friendliest people in the world. Well you will find the people in NEW YORK to be just like that.
You will get treated the way you treat people. IF your arrogant then you will find plenty of people just like you.
People in other parts of the country treat New Yorkers Bad because they expect New yorkers to be rude. SO that's why New yorkers are rude back at them.

I'm from NYC and I'm not arrogant. -_- But NYCers have a lot of pride in their city. Especially since NYC is known as one of the greatest cities in the world.

I think if you never been there, you shouldn't say that because you don't know.
If you have been to NYC, one person doesn't represent all New Yorkers.
