Well, if I promised to keep something a secret, then I keep the promise.

I don't make many promises, so I can't think of much else that I could have said that would extend beyond the lifespan of the friendship.

Depends on what the promise was and why the friendship ended. For example, if my friend slept with someone i was dating, i'd certainly not keep any kind of promise to set her up with a single friend (as an example)

Usually yes though. Promises transcend loyalty. I do it for myself. no one will say i don't keep my word. lol

Promises are promises. Simple as that. And to be honest, unless something absolutely horrible happened, a friend that was once your friend will probably be your friend again. Always keep your promises, you're always better off for it.

1. If you don't keep the promise, they will think the only reason you broke it, was because you are no longer friends, and after all, a promise is a promise. :)

I always keep a promise no matter what. Even though the friendship is done and she may have hurt me or I hurt her, I would never stoop so low as to tell a secret.

A promise is a promise. Be the one who is still a friend.

1. But I would have to know that the promise I made was in need of fulfilling. I couldn't be a mind reader.
