Yeah I do, and I feel the same way as you when family dont say it back to me when I sneeze. So you know what I do? After I sneeze i say "thank you", they'll get the hint.

I Always say God Bless You, too !
I believe it's the polite gesture to do, a lot of people have lost manners, values, and morals.
I tried to instill them in my 3 sons, and now I'm working on my 2 grandchildren.
Like trying to teach them to say..please and Thank You... they are 7 & 10. They haven't been around their dad was in the Army.
We Need to to show kindness... say Hi to people, smile more, hold the door for people, send thank you notes, etc. Sorry for venting.

I have no theory if it is real or not yet i grew to become into instructed as quickly as that as quickly as a individual sneezes or coughs that at that occasion your heart stops. And that's considered a state of dying. The blessing is available in once you come back to life, thanking G-d for not protecting your soul. for my area I also have a not basic time touching on yet as I mentioned it is the respond I gained as quickly as.

I usually say "Gesundheit" which is German for God bless you. Being of German decent, it just seems right. Although a few times I said "Youre sooo good looking" which is from an old Jerry Seinfeld bit. I only do that with people I know though.

No I feel like I'm forcing religion by saying that..
After someone sneezes I just say, "Ya okay?" Because they could actually be feeling pretty sick or something and have a cold..
*Star*, is wrong.. It's because during the times of the Black Plague, when everyone was sick.. If you sneezed it was looked at like a sign of being sick, and they said 'Bless You' just incase you might have the Black Plague...
I could be wrong but at least mine makes more sense.

I do say bless you to my family. Sometimes to strangers. I've got this debate in my head that humans cannot bless anything, only God can, so I believe the correct way to say it would be "God bless". The only reason I don't say God bless is because there are people who don't believe in God so I just say "bless you" and keep God in my head.

I do. Friends, family strangers. Even if someone is on the other ailse at the store and can't even see me I still say it.
This started sometime back in the middle ages when people believed that your soul left your body when you sneezed.
If someone says "bless you" (see I left God out of it) then your soul quickly returns to your body.

Yes I do, and often to strangers. I do get irritated when no one blesses me. I taught my kids to do so also. I wonder if anyone knows "why" we do this? I mean are we bless the snot that just came out? or hoping no one catches our germs?

Yes I do get irritated, but I also know that everyone makes mistakes. Maybe they forget to say it when they are busy thinking or doing something else! Or they just feel uncomfortable speaking with someone they don't know! But I understand your feelings and just try to understand that most people are just rude jerks!!!!
