Nope
Holy Bible to Jewish people, New Testament to Christians, Holy Qur'an to Muslims, various other holy books to other religions, Magna Carta, Charter of Rights and Freedoms (Canada), etc. It is only important to US citizens and not even to all of them I don't think. It is an important document and likely will be remembered in history books but it is certainly not the most important document ever written.

A lot of countries have written constitutions so I am sure thiers is more important to them.
Since much of what is in the US Constitution (and many other countries) takes it's lead from the Magna Carta perhaps that should be recognized.
But personally I think competitions over something so vague and undefinable as the most important document won't ever be settled.

Ever written? I'd have to say , yes. The bible is a book, not a document. A document is a single writing typically focusing on a single idea. Hence the constitution being a single writing focusing on the single idea of establishing the powers of the government and the rights of that government's people. The Bible as well as any other religious book has several writers, several books, dealing with several ideas not just one. I'd say the Bible is the most important collection of books to me. The U.S. Constitution is the most important document to me.

the answer to the two aspects is extremely confident and intensely no. i think of there are a number of aspects of the unique shape that are no longer nicely suitable to a rustic that has huge worldwide skill and conventional jobs (in spite of what we do with those powers and conventional jobs -- a huge continues to be a huge even while that's slumbering). the unique shape became designed for a small powerless united states of america. i think of if the Framers have been around in the present day, they could be bowled over at how few modifications we've made to the consumer-friendly shape (only 3 Amendments have extremely dealt with the consumer-friendly shape). on the different hand, whilst we've stored the consumer-friendly shape intact, there have been extremely some modifications as to how we function in the consumer-friendly shape. we don't inevitably stick to the reason of the unique Framers on each and every thing, yet you ought to bear in mind that a number of the modifications are in line with next modification. besides, reason is a type of fuzzy concepts. Many matters in the present day are drastically distinctive than the matters that exceedingly worried the Framers. If asked whether or no longer they theory the federal government ought to or ought to do X, lots of the framers could initially so no. besides the undeniable fact that, after extremely of be taught of the subject, the Framers could say that they do no longer think of the government ought to do X yet that that's in the authority of the government below the form.

When you look back in history, there was never a more inspired and forward thinking document ever written. To codify the freedoms and divisions and responsibilities within the government the way it does beggars belief. This just may the most important document defining the role of government.

It is for the USA. What is funny is that the founding fathers at the constitutional convention had no idea this was such a great document. They thought it was just a stop gap measure and we would have to come up with something else in a few years.

No. But I often wonder at all the good and bad that written documents seem to have on the fate of humanity. Someone is always waving a piece of paper at someone else...
