I was recently put on penicillin. I just finished my ten day supply on Aug. 3rd. Along with my penicillin I was taking my birth control pills. from Aug. 5th to Aug 11th I was on my placebo pills and had my menstration. Today I started my first new pack of birth control pills. Ive been off my penicillin pills for 9 days. Should my pill start working this week or do you think the pnicillin is still blanking out my pill?

Every person is different. I'd say use a condom for the next 30 days to be safe....

penicillin does not "blank out" your pill. you are fine. very few antibiotics actually interfere with the birth control aspect of the pill, though they may cause some break through bleeding

They say use a back-up method of birth control after taking anti-biotics until your next menstrual cycle. So about a month for you.

General rule of thumb is to expect full protection in one cycle, however, a week or two tends to be effective enough.

I think you are in serious danger of a bad medication mix but I am no doctor so I hope you have or will talk with a health professional about what you are taking with what.
