Since the Egyptians believe that the souls lives for ever and that someone that had died.. would go from one plain of existence to another... So the world ending never really played a part in their religious practices.................................

I am sorry but I am not aware of any doomsday predictions from the ancient Egyptians...
I think you may be referring to the Mayan calender which ends Dec 21 2012...
Please note that it is only the end of the Mayan calender and not a doomsday prediction either...
We are in the 12th baktun, and when we reach 13 baktuns in 2012 the calender simply resets back to zero...We begin a new age, which is The Age of Aquarius...
There are many theories as to what is going to happen when we reach 13 baktuns...
The one thing most people agree on is that we will merge into the 5th dimension....

it wasnt the egyptians it was the myans and they were very intelegent they studied the sky and noticed how long it takes the stars to die and noticed that the sun would die and we would be left with no way to live
