Yes, we say them all the time. It's important to say them often to everyone...especially to those in your own home. Don't you think your loved ones deserve courtesy?

I don't know why adults don't think it's necessary to use those words when speaking to children. How else will children learn? And children deserve respect, too.

So thank you for posting this question. Please continue to share you ideas with Yahoo! Answers as it helps people think about all sorts of things.

Thank you again!

:)

I am the polite police~I drive everyone crazy. It costs you nothing to be polite and everything to be rude. There is an incredible lack of common courtesy and it's a shame.

I do.

I had to laugh when I read this, my brother always gets worked up when he talks about the show "Wheel of Fortune" (like who watches that anyway...) and how people shout the letters out without asking or saying please.

I say please and thank you every day. I think that it's important to be polite. I also say things like "Excuse me" when I sneeze or bump into someone, and "Yes ma'am/No sir" to my elders. Manners are a lost art today.
