Personally I have found my observation of gay men to be 100% true. One physical characteristic I have found in gay men are that their shoulders arn't broad and tend to slope diagonally. This is true in all openly gay men. Type in a famous gay man into google images and you will see what I mean e.g the gay guy off Will and Grace!
I've also heard that gay men develope female features, such as big lips full of oestrogen and not a very strong jaw line ( a sign of testosterone)
My question is do you think my theories are correct and have you noticed any other characteristics. I'm not generalising I know that not all gay people have these characteristics and I'm not homophobic in the slightest. Just want to hear your opinions!

no offence "actually, ashley" but looking at all the answers you have given on yahoo you seem to really hate pretty girls, maybe they are a reminder of something you will never get to like because you are not straight. I know you're insecure because some people in society don't like you but please don't take that out on the competition (pretty girls) seeing as they will get the straight guys you fantasize over!

I've been on the planet for half a century now, and really don't see any physical charecteristics that would distinguish one from another. About a decade ago there was an observation that the hypothalmus (I think it was), which is a structure in the brain, was found to be smaller in gay men than in straight. Last I heard the study was discredited because the "gay" samples mostly came from AIDS victims, so it's certainly possible the difference was due to the disease. The only thing I think I may have noticed is that gay men almost always have shorter cut fingernails than I do. One of my gay buddies said that's so they don't collect poop under their fingernails. I have doubts that even that would be a 100% indication though.

I think you get all types and the overlap is so much you couldn't tell. There were studies (by Kinsey and others) showing slightly longer penis length in gay men; some have actually interpreted these as due to HIGHER androgen (testosterone) levels during development. A lot of gay guys are very well-built--gay culture places a huge value on looking good, and this often becomes even more apparent as gay guys get older and they often still are looking for partners while straight guys are married.
The fact that you have to look at Will and Grace--the stereotypical "gay" show for an example suggests you may need to look around more. By the way , Sean Hayes, the effeminate gay guy on the show, is not out of the closet and refuses to talk about his personal life. He's about as closeted as Anderson Cooper.
There are of course some gay guys who are effeminate--to the extent it's pretty much a giveaway.

What are the physical characteristics of gay men?
The same physical features as straight men.
One physical characteristic I have found in gay men are that their shoulders aren't broad and tend to slope diagonally.
Incorrect.
This is true in all openly gay men.
You didn't conduct a worldwide survey on all openly men, so this is wrong. Please don't assume.
the gay guy off Will and Grace!
The actor who plays Will isn't even gay, and the actor who plays Jack may indeed be gay (I don't know for certain) but I'm fairly sure he exaggerates his action to get the laughs. Please don't believe everything you see on TV.

I would suggest, broadly true that gay men have thinner bodies unless they work out. Not sure about lips per se. The best way to tell however is in their demeanour and the way they move and carry themselves. Gay men are usually quite sensitive and homely looking. The guys above seem to be living in a dream world where everything looks the same. If so, good luck to them. The complete fool proof way is simply to talk to them. The topics of conversation, pace of speech and accent are dead giveaways. I have gay friends, and femininity is a high correlating factor.

I'm srry but no....gay men hell men for that matter are too varied to be simply denoted by physical characteristics. You want a contradiction to ur statement? Take a look at Cheyenne Jackson.

There are no distinct physiological features that separate gay men from straight men.
Homosexuality does not discriminate based on physical attributes. In fact, many extremely muscular men are gay!

Rock Hudson. (Sighhhhh.)
Now your observations of gay men are no longer 100% true.
Or if you're going to confine yourself to openly gay guys: How would you know who is and who isn't?--unless you're counting only close friends, in which case it really can't be a meaningfully large sample!
I suggest you check out http://www.bigmuscle.com , which is for built gay guys looking to hook up with others. (You don't have to join just to look.) Unless all the photos are fake, or every one of the posters is in the closet, AND that's also true of every similar site, your theory is disproved.
Also, I don't think big lips on anybody are actually "full of oestrogen"--or estrogen, as we spell it in the States.
P.S. Cheyenne Jackson is mentioned above. He doesn't (so far as a quick look-see showed) come out as gay on his website, but he's mentioned as such in an interview, where he's described as "quintessential beefcake with . . . a pumped-up body obviously dedicated to the gym, plenty of sleep and a healthy diet."

I think you are way overgeneralizing. From my experience, there are gay (and straight) men of every physical description imaginable. I don't believe sexual orientation has any effect at all on physical type.

Short men (5’2” – 5’6”) with a slim to average build with facial hair. I have always like short guys, but the facial hair was a more recent addition. My partner is 5’5” and 130lbs and I felt thrilled that he returned my interest nine years ago. He is just as adorable as ever.
