Just because you "give good massages" doesn't mean you can make a business out of it. Find a reputable school that offers massage therapy and try it out. They will teach you the way to do the job and not hurt yourself so that you will be able to do it for a long time. Using the wrong technique can hurt you more than your client. If you start a business, you will need to learn how to run this business. It will be important that you know the client's medical history as massage can be detrimental in some cases. If you go to school and decide you like it, you will need a massage table, license, business license, many sets of sheets, uniforms, oil and lotion and a relaxed place to give a massage. All this will be taught to you. Also as of July of this year, you will need a National Certification. Here is a site that will help you.

You need to go to massage school. The Texas licensure test is pretty intensive - a lot harder than in other states - so study hard and take the test right after . If you charge money for massages without a state license, you can be prosecuted and fined, maybe even serve jail time.
Massage school was one of the best things I ever did. Don't let the cost dissuade you; take out loans and go to school. But find one with some integrity - my school was totally profit focused and I hated them for it.
Good luck!

Look in the telephone book and call a massage school. You can hurt someone if you don't learn the right way. You have to have a license and proper insurance.

First you must have a desire to help people. Then you'll need documentation of experience or education and you'll have to pass the national boards. After you have met these requirements, you'll need a license from the state in which you want to practice.

I thought it required that you were either licensed or certified.
