I strongly urge you to find another nail salon. Even if you bring your own tools, you are still relying on the salon to provide a clean tub, clean towels, etc. Bacteria can still grow in the water bath/tub if it isn't properly disinfected between customers. If the salon uses a fixed tub - it may drain the water between clients but not necessarily clean the trap where fungus & bacteria can thrive.
If your current salon isn't being diligent about keep their tools clean, then other things are probably not being done correctly. Your health is too important to take such a risk.
Finally, never - ever - let some one use a blade type of tool - this is an invasive procudure & can cut into live tissue. It's dangerous. Only licensed medical professionals are allowed to do procedures that might affect living tissue.
Please find yourself a better, more sanitary salon.

By all means, PLEASE take your own tools to the nail salon!
I got an icky toe fungus last year at a salon and my poor nail is still trying to grow out of it!
Make sure to take some tea tree oil for them to place around your toes after they finish your pedicure as well. The oil is a natural disinfectant that will keep fungus at bay too.

My Mom does that all the time ever since she saw a story about all these women going to the same salon and getting the same disgusting foot infection. Many people bring their own tools, so it should be okay. It would be good to ask first though...if they don't agree, find another salon.

gosh... i've also thought about bringing my own tools after i noticed a client's foot callus shavings flying all over the place and noticed they just semi-wiped it with a DRY cloth and used it on the next person. Who knows? You could try maybe you'll get a discount hehe.

Nope not at all, and some places allow you to keep the tools there for when you come back.

I'm sure there are lots of people that bring their own these
days. Just tell them you got an infection one time somewhere
else and now you want to bring yours.
