tom johnston had that white boy funk/soul sound that rocked on 'eyes of silver', 'take me in yer arms', 'another park, another sunday' and many others...includin 'savannah nights'-his first solo hit after leavin' the doobies...
michael macdonald was just downright bland...and he still is...

I prefered the Doobies with Michael McDonald. But my favorite song by the band is Long Train Running.

Well, I'm actually only familiar with the M. McDonald years. I love a lot of their music, "Black Water" and
"China Grove" come to mind..........Oh Black Water keep on rollin'(movin'?), Mississippi moon gonna keep on shinin' on me!.......been soo long not even sure of the words
