Cindy Sheehan has been involved in various protest movements for years and had gone generally unnoticed. Her son reenlisted to return to the war zone in Iraq. After his death she began to use his likeness on her t-shirt and his sacrifice in her campaign; gaining world wide attention. As her son apparently chose to serve our country, it appears that she is misusing his sacrifice for her own gain.

I think its sad she is soiling her sons memory.
He joined the services to fight for this country. He died a proud man.
Now Cindy is using his image to push her political view.
Thank You Mr. Sheehan for your sacrifice. Its too bad your mom needs medical attention.

codePinko was looking for a patsy they could thrust out in front of the 'anti-war' movement. The movement helmed by medea benjamin, a true feminazi who has no one but her own interests at heart, corrupted a mothers memory of her son and had her doing things that dishonored the memory of her son every time she turned around.

The fact that codePinko's group of self-righteous zealots receive donations from the widest group of self-loathing idiots the world has ever known still scares me.

So no, Sheehan is not sincere. She is however a shining example of the Democrats who foam over taking control of congress at the mids. At least on paper.

I'm neither a Democrat nor a Republican so don't show your dumber side and accuse me of something that ain't true.

If she thinks the war is wrong and her son was mistaken or mislead into fighting in it, I can understand that she would want to stop the war, even though it seems strange that she would use her son's name so prominently.

You never know what is going on in someone else's head, but my guess is that she is sincere even if I don't agree with her on a some issues. I think it would be interesting if she won the seat in congress she is seeking, although I probably wouldn't vote for her if I were in that district.

Yes

Didn't Nancy Pelosi criticize President George Walker Bush when the Democrats were the minority? Yes

So what happened to her when she became the Speaker of the House? She became a talker.

She lost a son in an illegal war that was premised on lies. Regardless of whether her son supported the war or not, she has the right to be angry that his life was squandered. As for her running against Nancy Pelosi, good for her! The Democrats have been amazingly spineless in standing up to Bush and his authoritarian buddies--a kick in the rear to motivate the Democrats is exactly what's needed.

Obviously you're not a grieving mother or you could never be so callous.

The woman is distraught over her son's death and what she views as an unnecessary sacrifice.

Who are you to question her sincerity or her motives?

Anybody can see that the only thing keeping her upright is the cause of ending the war.

She deserves our sympathy and prayers not our contempt or ridicule.

I think she's sincere. I don't necessarily agree with her, but I agree with her right to do what she's doing.
