why not ask him why he needs it ? maybe your bill is getting expensive and he wants to be sure that you are involved in a real accident / will prevail and be able to pay him back ? generally getting rear ended is almost always the other parties fault but if you stopped suddenly / inappropriately or somoene else changed lanes it might make the case fuzzy . or he wants to be sure that both cars have insurance so that someone is gonna pay out.
the only other reason i would think of is that he thinks the injury is not what he would expect / wonders where the damage to the car is at ? where you suffered the greatest impact ?
i do not think that the police report would contain any information that is too detailed such as the speed at which you were hit / impact and the damage to the other car would help tell the story. i can't imagine why he would need this general report that probably doesn't contain the relevant information. it's mainly just a report with the names of the parties that documents the incident.
maybe the doctor is not familiar with U.S. accident reports and thinks there will be more information than there is ?
i would ask him why he wants it / straight out in an open /honest / non confrontational sort of way. good luck.

Here's a novel idea? Ask why he needs it in the 1st place?
Probably to verify your injury occurred in an automobile accident.
Don't get wiggy, if you like give him the report number & advise him how he can obtain a copy.
If you're still uncomfortable go to another chiropractor, that your lawyer approves.

1. Maybe he wants to check the PR to see if you indicated you were injured at the scene because he thinks you are faking it but that is hard to believe a Chiro would do that.
2. Maybe he wants to make a medical claim against your auto insurance. Most states require, or have this coverage available.
3. Ask your chiro.
4. Ask your atty

If you have already gotten a lawyer then you need to tell him to contact your lawyer. At this time you shouldn't give anyone anything without first consulting with your lawyer. Your lawyer will decide whether or not your doctor needs a copy of the report. If your doctor knows that you have a lawyer, he should already know this and is wrong to ask you for anything.

The police report would verify how your car was hit. Being hit from behind will cause different injury to your spinal column (particularly, your neck) than if you were hit from the front or side.
This is being done to determine that your treatment is, in fact, for your auto wreck, and not some unrelated circumstance.

My guess is he wants to bill the other parties insurance company. Your chiropractor is the only one that actually knows why he wants the report.

The details of your accident are none of the chiropractor's business, and should have absolutely no bearing on your treatment. Chiropractors are not real doctors. Do not go back to this "doctor." Please see a real doctor, or at least find a reputable chiropractor.

I don't know unless he thinks how you were hit would explain how to treat you. Some of those guys are just a bit off, don't you think?
