What are some good Vegas hotels?
I'm going in September - I'm looking for cheap, cheap cheap, but still nice and in a good location, and way down The Strip and miles from everything!
Share some personal experiences too!

As mentioned, the weekend is the most expensive. Try a basic room at MGM-they run great deals on their web site (last I saw was a package-$83/night for 3 weekday nights which included $25 in meals and some discounted stuff) I've stayed at MGM and loved it, nice room, nice pool & lazy river too. It is at the far south end but, that's also the newest end & the monorail has a station at MGM, just tour the strip in segments to lower your monorail travel/cost!

I've also stayed at Excalibur--it's cheap. It feels cheap. The rooms are horrible, no tub, just a shower, dirty, dated bathroom, bad lighting everywhere, not fun! (think castely decor in a motel 6)

I've visited but never stayed at Circus Circus--I wouldn't recommend it unless you like a lobby full of screaming brats and sticky floors.

Remember not to go too cheap--you get what you pay for!

Check South Point which is off the Strip and away from the normal visitor areas but not far from the Strip. The hotel has been open about a year and has bowling and movies. This is still considered a local casino.

Otherwise, I would try the Gold Coast, part of Coast Casinos, which is over the freeway to the west of Caesars Palace. The prices are right and that too has bowling, movies, and a nice buffet. They also have a small showroom. This is considered a local casino.

I have lived in Vegas since 1970 and stayed at many Strip and local casinos. I also would check the rates at the Orleans, another Coast casino with similar amenities.

The best deals regardless of where you stay are Sunday through Thursday, Friday Saturday nights the prices go up everywhere.

If you want to stay on the Strip try Circus Circus which is on the strip but has a motel (discounted) as well as hotel.

All of the above are online. September is a great time to come as the heat/temp is usually about 100 not 110. Have fun. But remember to join the players club for all kinds of stuff and invites back (a local thing)

Excalibur and New York New York are decently priced. Check them out! You want a nice hotel that'll give you the Vegas experience. These would definitely do that - they're on the strip and great places to be!

The place that answers this is called Primm Valley Resort. Whisky peetes is accross the interstate from them also. They are so far down the strip that if they were any further down the strip they would be in California. They are miles from everything except the outlest mall and the occational act that performs there.
The cheapest is whiskey petes. The best there is primm valley resort. And Bufallo Bills is in the middle.

try going to hotels.com or expedia/travelocity they all show what the room rates are and have customer surveys and experiences from the hotels...try Rio, which is offf the strip - all rooms are suites, 6 different pools, great club (Voodoo) and buffets are reasonable just eat breakfast and dinner

Go on expedia, and make a fake trip with hotel. They will provide you a list of all hotels and their ratings, and their rates.
